Terms and Conditions
A. Enrolment terms and conditions.
By signature on the acceptance form, all applicants agree to the following terms and conditions of The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP (UK) Ltd. / The Institute):1. The acceptance form constitutes the contract between the parties
2. ICMP (UK) Ltd (ICMP/the Company) will make every effort to ensure each course is delivered as advertised. However, ICMP reserves the right to modify course content and materials as required in the interests of continuous course improvement and/or academic obligation. ICMP also reserves the right to make reasonable changes to course start dates, end dates, timetables and course location. Students will be given sufficient notice of any such changes.
3. An assessment must be undertaken prior to enrolment for the Higher Diploma and Certificate courses, and an audition is required for the Degree course. Contact Admissions to make arrangements. No assessment is required for part-time courses.
4. A deposit of £300 is required to secure your place on all full-time courses. All part-time course should be paid in full, i.e. no deposit is required.
5. Course fees and/or deposits are not refundable or transferable except in case of material breach by ICMP or in the absolute discretion of management. Students must advise ICMP in writing if they wish to defer or cancel all or part of their course at any time. Deferrals are subject to restrictions. Non-attendance of classes does not constitute cancellation or deferment of a course. ICMP reserves the right to charge reasonable administration fees for students who withdraw for reasons other than material breach by ICMP or as in 6) below.
6. In the case of unforeseen circumstances, or if insufficient student numbers are enrolled onto a course, ICMP reserves the right to cancel any course prior to commencement. A full refund will be provided to any enrolled students in this case.
7. ICMP reserves the right to expel or suspend any student from all or part of their course in cases of unacceptable conduct.
8. ICMP reserves the right to modify course prices from time to time (other than a course already contracted by the applicant); the website www.icmp.co.uk generally contains the most up to date information.
9. Balance of fees on all full-time courses must be paid in full within one month of the commencement date of the course start date, and on all part-time courses within one week of the commencement date of the course start date, unless alternative arrangements are agreed in writing with ICMP beforehand. ICMP reserves the right to cancel the enrolment and allocate the place to another applicant in case of non-payment of course fees.
10. In case of any offer made by ICMP being conditional, the offer is subject to the applicant's meeting the specified conditions by the specified date.
11. ICMP cannot accept responsibility or liability for death or personal injuries except for those resulting from the Company’s negligence or breach of duty. In particular, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure adequate ear protection at all times when using amplification equipment.
12. ICMP shall not be liable to enrolled applicants for loss of profit or for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage of any kind. Any other liability of ICMP to applicants under or in connection with the provision of a course (other than liability for death or personal injury from the Company’s negligence or breach of duty) shall in no event exceed the fees payable in respect of such course.
13. In addition to these terms and conditions, students agree to abide by policies and procedures as set out in the ICMP student handbook and/or via notices displayed on ICMP premises from time to time
14. Students will be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the Company’s property however caused by them and will indemnify the Company against any resulting liabilities and expenses.
15. This and any other agreement between the applicant and the ICMP shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Please see our website, www.icmp.co.uk, for information regarding promotional offers, copyright, and privacy policy.
B. Scholarship 2010 terms and conditions
1. Applications will not be returned to the contestant regardless of their success within the contest.
2. All entries must be accompanied by a completed “Higher Diploma Scholarship Application Form”.
3. Proof of posting is not proof of the ICMP’s receipt of the entry. No responsibility can be accepted for applications that are lost, delayed or damaged.
4. The short-listed applicants will be informed within two weeks of the Live Final date. No correspondence will be entered into with the unsuccessful applicants.
5. Under no circumstances will a student be awarded a scholarship if they fail to attend the live final.
6. The scholarship awards are not open to family members or dependants of ICMP staff
7. The award may not be transferred to any other person and no cash alternative is available.
8. Any scholarship student who is deemed to be in breach of the school codes of conduct and attendance, or who withdraws from study without a valid reason as accepted by the ICMP, will be liable to reimburse the full value of the scholarship.
9. The award is for the Higher Diploma that commences in October 2009 and is not deferrable to subsequent intakes or transferable to other courses.
10. The ICMP reserves the right to use any photographs or video taken during the various events associated with the scholarship awards for promotional and marketing purposes.
11. All applicants must have an acceptable standard of English in order to study at the ICMP. In the case of a student’s English being unacceptable we reserve the right to refuse the award
12. The ICMP reserves the right to amend these conditions at any time and applying implies acceptance of these conditions.
13. Our panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
