Terms and Conditions

1. Enrolment terms and conditions.

By signature on the enrolment form, all applicants agree to the following terms and conditions of The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP (UK) Ltd. / The Institute):

  1. All diploma and certificate students must be assessed before they are accepted onto any course.
  2. A deposit of £200 is required to secure a place on any full-time or part-time Diploma or Certificate course, and £100 for any other course. This deposit is not refundable
  3. The Institute will make every effort to ensure each course is delivered as advertised. However, the Institute reserves the right to modify course content and materials as required in the interests of continuous course improvement. The Institute also reserves the right to make reasonable changes to course start dates, end dates, timetables and course location. Students will be given sufficient notice of any such changes.
  4. Course fees and/or deposits are not refundable or transferable except in case of material breach by the Institute or in the absolute discretion of Company management. Students must advise the Institute in writing if they wish to defer or cancel all or part of their course at any time.  Non-attendance of classes does not constitute cancellation or deferment of a course.
  5. If the case of unforeseen circumstances, or of insufficient student numbers are enrolled onto a course, the Institute reserves the to cancel any course prior to commencement and a full refund will be provided to any enrolled students in this case.
  6. The Institute reserves the right to expel any student from all or part of their course in cases of unacceptable conduct
  7. The Institute reserves the right to modify course prices from time to time; course prices can be obtained by contacting the Admissions Team at the Institute 
  8. Balance of fees on all courses must be paid in full within one month of the commencement date of the course start date, unless alternative arrangements are agreed in writing with the Institute beforehand. The Institute reserves the right to cancel the application and allocate the place to another applicant in case of non-payment of course fees.
  9. The Institute cannot accept responsibility or liability for injuries except for injuries resulting from the Institute's negligence or breach of duty. In particular, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure adequate ear protection at all times when using amplification equipment
  10. The Institute shall not be responsible for students' belongings, including musical equipment, whilst on Institute premises and so cannot in the absence of any negligence or breach of duty by the Institute or its servants and agents be held liable for loss, damage or theft of said belongings.
  11. In addition to these terms and conditions, students agree to abide by policies and procedures as set out in the course student handbook and/or via notices displayed on Institute premises from time to time
  12. Students will be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the Institute's property however caused by them and will indemnify the Institute against any resulting liabilities and expenses
  13. This and any other agreement between the applicant and the Institute shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. 2008 Higher Diploma Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  1. Applications will not be returned to the contestant regardless of their success within the contest.
  2. All entries must be accompanied the completed "Higher Diploma Scholarship Application Form".
  3. Proof of posting is not proof of The Institute's receipt of the entry. No responsibility can be accepted for applications that are lost, delayed or damaged
  4. The short-listed applicants will be informed within two weeks of the Live Final date. No correspondence will be entered into with the unsuccessful applicants. Under no circumstances will a student be awarded a scholarship if they fail to attend the live final.
  5. The award may not be transferred to any other person and no cash alternative is available.
  6. Any scholarship student who is deemed to be in breech of the school codes of conduct and attendance, or who withdraws from study without a valid reason as accepted by The Institute, will be liable to reimburse the full value of the scholarship.
  7. The award is for the Diploma that commences in October 2008 and is not a deferrable to subsequent intakes or transferable to other courses.
  8. The Institute reserves the right to use any photographs or video taken during the event for promotional and marketing purposes.
  9. The Institute reserves the right to amend these conditions at any time and applying implies acceptance of these conditions.
  10. All applicants must have an acceptable standard of English in order to study at The Institute. In the case of a student's English being unacceptable we reserve the right to refuse the award
  11. Our panel's decision is final in and no correspondence will be entered into. 

3. JustinGuitar Special Offer terms and conditions

  1. Justinguitar.com readers will be entitled to a 20% discount on Institute part-time guitar courses - acoustic or electric - with effect from June 2008.
  2. Justinguitar.com readers will be entitled to a 10% discount on the Institute full-time Guitar Certificate course  - with effect from June 2008.
  3. When applying for these discounts, please quote  "INSTITUTE GUITAR JS PROMO" when you speak to the admissions advisor
  4. ICMP (UK) Limited reserves the right to change course prices from time to time
  5. This offer shall apply up to and including the October 2008 enrolment period unless otherwise advertised
  6. All applicants must complete an enrolment form and normal enrolment terms and conditions shall apply (see above) in all cases
  7. This offer cannot be substituted or replaced by cash or any other form of reward nor will applicants be entitled to receive refunds of course fees except in case of material breach by ICMP (UK) Ltd. or at the absolute discretion of the management 
  8. Students are entitled to receive the discount on unlimited number of courses during the specified promotional period
  9. Applicants shall not be entitled to claim the discount on behalf of friends, family members or others - each applicant must contact the Instittue directly to receive the discount
  10. ICMP (UK) Limited reserves the right to refuse the discount to applicants if in their view the offer is being abused in any way
  11. ICMP (UK) Limited takes no responsibility for any dealings transactions or agreements between the applicant and Justinguitar.com

4. The Heard Special Offer terms and conditions

  1. Members of The Heard will be entitled to a 20% discount on Institute part-time courses with effect from August 2007.
  2. When applying for this discount, please quote "INSTITUTE HEARD PROMO" when you speak to the admissions advisor.  
  3. ICMP (UK) Limited reserves the right to change course prices from time to time.
  4. This offer shall apply up to and including the October 2007 enrolment period unless otherwise advertised.
  5. All applicants must complete an enrolment form and normal enrolment terms and conditions shall apply in all cases.  
  6. This offer cannot be substituted or replaced by cash or any other form of reward nor will applicants be entitled to receive refunds of course fees except in case of material breach by ICMP (UK) Ltd. or at the absolute discretion of the management.
