Steve Smyth
A veteran of the metal music scene, a recognized, accomplished teacher and former columnist for Guitar World Magazine, Steve achieved journeyman status through long term touring, song-writing, and recorded work with acts including Testament, Nevermore, Dragonlord, and Vicious Rumors; perhaps most notably co-author of several songs from the critically acclaimed Nevermore album This Godless Endeavor.
In 2010, Steve is the lead guitarist for Nuclear Blast Recording Artists Forbidden, a member of instrumental duo The EssenEss Project, runs his own independent label, Two Louder Music, and is at work on a new, UK based vocal-oriented metal band featuring former members of Biomechanical, Dragonforce, and Mercenary. Live performance highlights include playing on some of the biggest metal festivals to date, including Dynamo, Wacken, Graspop, and Rock Hard Festivals, among many others.
Steve has also taught on the National Guitar Summer Workshop, as well as Metal Hammer summer schools for several music institutes in the UK, and beyond.
