Martin Goulding
Since graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology in 1993, Martin has become one of London's busiest private teachers, specialising in advanced rock techniques and improvisation. As well as course writer and specialist in Modern Rock studies here at the Guitar Institute (ICMP), Martin also writes a monthly column for Guitar Techniques magazine, and does clinics and masterclasses for the London and Bath International Guitar Festival. His work has also been featured in Total Guitar and Guitar World (USA) magazines, as well as international bestseller 'Guitar: A Complete Guide for the Player' published in 2002. A busy session musician with clients including Chappell recorded music library, Bruton Music, Zomba and the BBC, Martin also engineers/plays/programs and produces for artists in styles from pop/soul/funk/rock and metal, and is currently writing and producing for UK Progressive band Linear Sphere.
Martin has just launched his new website www.martingoulding.com to immediate success with over 120,000 hits in the first 48 hours! The website has been put together to provide a high quality resource for intermediate to advanced players who are interested in developing their Modern Rock techniques and improvisation. The website features an extensive Lesson Area, packed with practice concepts, licks, riffs and solo studies in the style of some of the world’s best known players in the style. The site also documents Martins work over the last 5 years, writing as monthly columnist for two of the biggest guitar magazines in the world, Guitar Techniques magazine here in the UK, and Guitar World magazine USA. The site is set to continually expand with interviews, guest lessons and masterclasses by some of the top players in the world as well as provide an overview of Martin’s career as a teacher, session musician and producer.
