Apostolos Zavaliaris

Apostolos-guitarTolis relocated from Greece to London in 2001 where he studied on the 3 year degree course at the Institute of Contemporary Music - then known as 'The Guitar Institute'. After his graduation he was invited to join the Institute as a guitar teacher and tutor.

His Greek background helped him to develop an enormous style incorporating jazz, rock and ethnic elements in his guitar playing. In May 2004 Apostolos won the "London Guitar Hero" competition which took place at the Wembley Conference Centre.

He has worked professionally as a guitarist with numerous artists for more than 10 years along with various famous Greek artists. Tolis gigs regularly with his band "The Duvets" all over the country and has also completed a recording session for the West-end show "Flop Star".

Tolis is also an official regular contributor to Guitar Techniques magazine.
