Justin Scott

An alumnus of Berklee College Music, Justin Scott subsequently attained a Master's Degree (with distinction) in Music Performance from the London College of Music and Media. In addition, he has studied privately with some of the most notable drum tutors in the world including Gary Chaffee (Pat Metheny, Mick Goodrick), Mike Mangini (Extreme, Steve Vai), John Marshall (John Surman, Soft Machine) and Pete Zeldman (Jaco Pastorius, Steve Vai).
As a performer, he has drummed and recorded throughout Europe, USA and Asia with, and alongside musicians such as Mike Mondesir (John McLaughlin, Jeff Beck), Mekaal Hasan (Billy Cobham), Iain Scott (Frank Gambale, Brian Wilson), Moira Lambert (St. Etienne, Paul Oakenfold), Phelan Kane (Placebo, Dido, Samantha Mumba), Svetlana Vassileva (Moby), Chris Rambling, Jonathan Kydd, and Me'sha Bryan (Roxy Music), as well as making numerous TV appearances on shows such as Parkinson, GMTV, The Paul O' Grady Show, Des and Mel, and Children In Need, with artists such as Rod Stewart, Hue & Cry and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Currently, Justin is recording and performing with guitarist, Amit Chatterjee's trio (Joe Zawinul, Dave Liebman) and guitarist/songwriter, Justin Sandercoe (Katie Melua).
As an educator, Justin was a drum teacher for five years at London's Drumtech before moving to The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) as head of the newly formed drum department. He is also currently on faculty at Thames Valley University where he is a drum teacher on the BMus in Popular Music Performance and MMus in Performance, as well as maintaining a successful private teaching practice. Consequently, Justin has been a drum tutor to literally hundreds of students including Aaron Fagen (David Sneddon), Elliot Fyffe (Blue, Ronan Keating), Aicha Djidjelli (Rachael Stevens, Amy Studt) Lawrence Colbert (Ride), Adam Ficek (Babyshambles), Olly Betts (The Duke Spirit), and Stephen Simmonds (Groovejet).
