Terry GregoryProgramme Leader (HE) / Head of Bass
Terry has spent much of the last 10 years playing bass with some of the country's finest guitarists including jazz supremo Martin Taylor and his award winning group Spirit of Django, and also ex-Genesis member Steve Hackett.

John CurrieJohn Currie is one of the most versatile and experienced freelance bassists on the London music scene today. He has worked with everyone from Alvin Stardust to Guns'n'Roses guitarist Slash. Currie also writes for Bassist and Guitarist magazines, and specialises in advanced funk and rock styles.

Phil MannPhil Mann has appeared in London’s West End on Dancing In the Street, across Europe on shows such as Jesus Christ Super Star, Little Shop Of Horrors, Anything Goes, Fame, Jack The Ripper, and back home on The National Lottery Live. In addition, Phil’s credits include Alison Limerick, Andy Abraham, and more recently, Lois Winstone (daughter of iconic actor Ray).

Matt MartinMatt has quickly established himself as a busy freelance bassist. he has worked with such acts and artists as Westlife, Holly Valance and Darren Hayes. He has also played at the Royal Albert Hall, NIA, Shepherds Bush Empire and Hyde Park and has appeared on TOTP, CD:UK, Pepsi Chart Show and T4. Matt also works frequently in London’s West End.

Alan MianAlan Mian is one of the most in demand bassists on the London music scene on both Bass Guitar and Double Bass. Specializing in Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Soul and R&B, he has played with many top names in Jazz from the U.S and U.K. including Wynton Marsalis, Barry Harris and Mark Mondesir.

Paul ScottPaul Scott has played bass guitar and double bass professionally for over thirty years and has worked with artists as diverse as Burt Bacharach, Billy Eckstine, Jimmy Witherspoon, Brian Johnson (AC/DC) and Jamie Cullum.

Svetlana VassilevaSvetlana Vassileva joined the Institute as a bass teacher straight after graduating with BMus Honours. She toured the UK extensively with her band, The Vegastones supporting Duran Duran for their 2000 UK arena tour and has worked with such names as Busted, Moby, and Abs.
