New Music Bursary

BBM Bursary.jpgThe Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, one of the UK’s leading schools of modern music, has teamed up with britishblackmusic.com and Life FM’s ‘Business of Music’ show to offer over £1,000 worth of bursary support for talented and deserving students aspiring to make a career in the music industry.

As a result of this bursary, 4 young musicians – one each of guitar, bass, drums and vocals – will be able to study on the Institute’s ground-breaking 1-year Diploma course, starting this September, absolutely for free!

BursaryThe Institute’s Diploma course provides a fantastic opportunity for talented musicians and singers aged under-19 who aspire to a career within the music industry. In addition to gaining a nationally recognized, vocationally specific qualification (BTEC National Certificate in Music), the course enables students to develop the major key skills and knowledge necessary to effectively meet the challenges of the modern music industry, take part in live showcase events often attended by industry A&R representatives and have the use of the Institute’s amazing facilities for private practice free of charge.

The winners of the awards will be announced in early September – this is the chance of a lifetime, so if you are aged under 19 and want to make a career in the music industry, what are you waiting for – apply now!

*All applicants will be required to fill in an application form and undertake a short assessment at the Institute. They should be able to demonstrate solid technical playing/singing skills, with a minimum 5 GCSE passes at C or above (including English/Maths). Applicants with equivalent qualifications or professional musical experience will also be considered.
