The London International Music Show is going to be one of the world's largest music making exhibitions and the Institute will be there! Taking place over 4 days in June at London's ExCel centre, the event will comprise of The London Guitar show, Drummer Live, Sound Recording Technology and The Unplugged Show.

The Institute will present over all four days of LIMS, we will be hosting stand D33 in the guitar hall so come over and say hello! We will also be hosting talks & presentations in the education arena, providing performances on the stage in the concourse featuring our tutors, students & alumni, as well as hosting numerous seminars and clinics throughout the weekend.

Most exciting of all, keep an eye out for our students and tutors performing on the main stages in both the guitar and drum arenas! Read more below...

Remo drum Night:

The Institute has been asked to provide a student percussion band to perform at the Remo Drummers night at this year’s’ London International Music Show (LIMS) on Saturday 14th June 2008 in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

The remarkable line-up of drummers will combine for one night only with the House Band, which includes players from James Blunt’s band with Karl Brazil as the Musical Director for the evening. The full line-up giving their time and amazing ‘chops" to a very worthy cause are:

Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Mark Schulman (Cher, Pink), Steve White (Paul Weller), Paul Stewart (The Feeling), Ian Matthews (Kasabian), Andrew Small (Kylie Minogue), Cherisse Osei (Mika), Neil Wilkinson (Van Morrison), Jason Bould (Pitchshifter), Jerry Brown (Girls Aloud), Geoff Dugmore, Ralph Salmins, Trevor Lawrence Jr (Alicia Keys), Simon Hanson (Squeeze), Andy Newmark (Sly & the Family Stone), & Karl Brazil, (James Blunt).

Guitar Idol:

Keep an eye out for Institute tutors, Dave Marks (Bass), Darren Ashford (Drums) and Gianluca Corona (Guitar) performing as the backing band at the Guitar Idol finals! Then on Saturday watch them perform live with the Guitar Idol winner as the support act for Malmsteen!
