INSTITUTE STUDENTS RECORD AT ABBEY ROAD WITH EDDIE KRAMER

The Institute recently got an exclusive invite to visit Abbey Road Studios where The Black Hand were recording their lastest EP with non-other than studio legend Eddie Kramer sat in the producer's chair.
The Black Hand, who count James LoMenzo amongst their greatest fans, are among the real rising stars of the UK rock scene and the fact that Eddie Kramer is producing this EP speaks volumes for their potential. Eddie is truly a legend in the world of recording; here is the man who recorded Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones to name but a few! Even with that CV to rely on, he's not one to stand still. He still always embraces new technology to create great music, but he's also aware that if it ain't broke, don't fix it; he used the same mic'ing technique on Rob's cabs that he used with Hendrix!
The Black Hand includes Institute graduates Rob Chapman (who is also an orange clinician as well as a PRS endorsee) and bassist Grevum May. Following this recording session, the tracks will be mixed in LA, where Eddie lives, so these sessions were about recording all of the parts. Thanks to Eddie's experience and attention to detail, and the bands skill and enthusiasm, they were already capturing great results.
Widely recognised as Europe's finest school of modern music, the Institute provides up and coming musicians and facilities , but also with the oppurtunities like this to connect to legends of the music industry, develop their careers and visit legendary venues such as Abbey Road.
