What can you say about such a virtuosic master of his instrument? Well, we'll give it a go! Steve's laid back style, great sense of humour and laconic delivery made him an instant hit with the packed room of eager students. First up was his great tone! With a relatively simple backline setup and his signature Musicman guitar he produced an amazing range of tones during the clinic (our fave was the fake wah!).  He demonstrated loads of ways he developed his infamous chops and gave a unique insight into his approach to the instrument. This went from his use of chromaticism to his take on artificial harmonics.  He also spoke at length about his time studying at Miami, next to Jaco and Pat, and how his education had helped him open his ears to music and concepts he may not have come into contact with. In fact, he name-checked two of his teachers there as being a profound influence on him! Needless to say we agree with that!  To top it all, he chatted and signed photos, with the students afterwards, before our instructor, Misha Nikolic, interviewed him for a Guitar Techniques special video lesson!
