Dan Foord is the incredibly gifted drummer behind the UK's most complex but gratifying metal band, Sikth. Dan performed an exclusive masterclass along with James Leach (Sikth's bassist) at the Institute and revealed to us all why Sikth are widely recognised the UK's most successful metal band!

Sikth formed in 2001 and their music has been under the scope of many music magazines such as Kerrang! and Metal Hammer, and is a favourite of BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs.

Their style of music, although obviously being extreme music, is beyond classification. It is self-described as 'noisecore', and is often labeled as 'weirdcore' and 'math metal'. They have rapidly gained a reputation as being one of the most cutting edge collectives around!
