John Goldie
The Institute was privileged to welcome world renowned guitarist John Goldie to its premises on 16th November 2006.
John Goldie is one of the UK’s most prominent jazz guitarists. He started playing at the age of six, and after many years touring and recording as a sideman and session player, he decided to concentrate on jazz and solo guitar. He has toured in duo format with Martin Taylor and Ike Isaacs and is currently a member of Taylor’s group – Spirit of D’Jango.
John has played every major Jazz Festival in the UK and Ireland, including a week at Ronnie Scott’s in London. Aside from solo concerts, John has his own trio performing mainly original music. Recent trips to the USA have included performances at the 20th Century Guitar Show and solo concerts in New York!
