ERIC CLAPTON’S DRUMMER, IAN THOMAS, PERFORMS AT THE INSTITUTE!

Ian is renowned for being a highly versatile drummer who is able to play in a wide range of genres. These skills, along with his unerring sense of grove and musicality, have established him as one of the most in demand session drummers in the UK. He has worked with artists of the calibre of Seal and Paul McCartney, producers of the stature of George Martin and has played on numerous TV themes, jingles and feature films. He has in addition played live with names such as Tom Jones, Sting and Elton John to name but a few, and is currently rehearsing and recording with none other than guitar legend Eric Clapton!

Ian has also been a long-time endorsee of Yamaha drums and has a great reputation as a clinician. It is this light we were pleased to have him pass tips and experience on being a demanded session player, and to talk about his up and coming tour with Blind Faith.
