Few guitarists can have claimed to have changed the way we play, but Frank is one of those individuals. His simply jaw-dropping command of the instrument is equally matched by his skills as a teacher. He is able to explain with clarity and patience every detail of his approach and technique; in short he blows your mind then explains how he does it!

The clinic was, and Frank’s playing is, about far more than simply technique. Frank has the experience of playing with some of the worlds most progressive and forward thinking musicians; a situation he would not find himself in if he was not of the same vision. His work on experimenting with tunings and the tuning correction he developed on his signature Yamaha guitar are testament to his enthusiasm and drive.

Later, we went to see Frank with ‘Vital Information’ at Ronnie’s (that’s the joy of being in London!). He played in a more traditional jazz setting, with no distortion and stylistically totally different to the clinic, and he still was awesome!

“(I) had a great time addressing a room full of very enthusiastic young talent” commented Frank “students were genuinely interested and full of intelligent questions...I think a great time was had by all.” We couldn’t agree more!
