Boo Hewerdine

Singer and songwriter Boo Hewerdine dropped in to the Institute on Tuesday 31st October to share his knowledge with our students.

Boo Hewerdine2Boo Hewerdine is one of the UK’s most respected and talented songwriters and it was with great pleasure that we welcomed him into the Institute to share his wealth of experience with our students.

He began his career in the mid-eighties with the group he formed, The Bible, winning Nick Hornby as an early fan and resulting in Hornby featuring ‘Glorybound’ in his book ‘31 Songs’

In the wake of the bands breakup Boo embarked on a solo career, and has recorded and written with a wide range of artists, such as Nick Drake producer John Wood, Eddi Reader and Nashville’s Darden Smith.

He has also written film scores (Fever Pitch being one) and has had his songs recorded by artists such as Natalie Imbruglia, Mel C, Alex Parks and KD Lang.

A chance to learn from someone with Boo’s pedigree was an event not to be missed!
