Richard Smith Masterclass
Musical genius Richard Smith is coming to the ICMP for an exclusive masterclass. Practicing the jazz guitar intently since the age of 14, Smith has recorded albums which became some of the top discs in the early contemporary jazz genre. Come witness a live performance of he and his band, and get the chance to ask questions about recording, performing, and what it takes to be a professional player here and abroad. |

Thomas Lang Masterclass Lang earned his stripes by working with some of Europe's most demanding recording and touring outfits including Falco, John Wetton, Bonnie Tyler, and many others. In addition to his work with other artists, Lang's 1995 solo release, "Mediator" topped the charts in Europe and garnered rave reviews for its innovative Jazz/Dance/ProgRock sound.

Tim Rice Masterclass
The ICMP is delighted to present a unique and exclusive masterclass with legendary lyricist and multi-Grammy and Oscar-winner Sir Tim Rice. This is a rare opportunity to hear Sir Tim talk about his life and work and his writing partnerships with composers such as Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Elton John. ICMP students and staff will perform selected songs from his repertoire with commentary onstage by Sir Tim himself.

Polly Scattergood Masterclass
The ICMP will welcome up and coming star Polly Scattergood for a masterclass before her headline performance at MishMash at the Luminaire. Polly will speak about her experiences in the industry and her music, while her manager, Neil Ferris, former MD of EMI, will be on hand to answer any music business questions.

Songwriting Masterclass with Tony Moore
The ICMP is very excited to welcome The Bedford's Tony Moore into the school to host a songwriting masterclass. With an eclectic career of music-making which includes being a founding member of Iron Maiden, keyboard player for Cutting Crew, creator of London's famous venue Kashmir Klub and host of a BBC Radio show, Tony has a wealth of experience to draw on.

Janek Gwizdala Project Featuring Jojo Mayer Masterclass Janek, a member of the ICMP's visiting faculty and a rapidly rising star in the world of bass guitar, has brought together a trio of some of the most cutting edge musicians in New York City - Jojo Mayer (drums), Oli Rockberger (keys and vocals), and long-time collaborator Audun Waage of Norway on trumpet. Pat Martino Masterclass Pat began playing professionally in 1961. He has performed with a wide variety of artists including Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons, Richard Groove Holmes, John Handy, Bobby Hutcherson, Chick Corea, Jack McDuff, Don Patterson, Stanley Clark, Eric Kloss, Trudy Pitts, Willis Jackson, Lloyd Price, Woody Herman, Chuck Israels, Charles Earland, Barry Miles and Joe Pesci. Since 1967, Pat has been touring as a leader.

Scott Henderson Masterclass Scott Henderson's impressive work over the years as co-leader of the group Tribal Tech, and as sideman for Chick Corea, Jean Luc Ponty and Joe Zawinul has elevated him to the front ranks of both jazz and blues.
