Songwriter, musician and producer specialising in contemporary R&B and pop, Paul Simm has written hits for acts including the Sugababes and Eagle Eye Cherry and produced albums for the likes of Groove Armada. Hosting a songwriting workshop for ICMP students, Paul spoke about his experiences and gave advice to students on their pieces. |

Richard Smith
Musical genius Richard Smith came to the ICMP for an exclusive masterclass. Practicing the jazz guitar intently since the age of 14, Smith has recorded albums which became some of the top discs in the early contemporary jazz genre. Students witnessed a live performance of he and his band, and got the chance to ask questions about recording, performing, and what it takes to be a professional player here and abroad. |

Thomas Lang * Visiting faculty member, Thomas Lang's masterclass Lang earned his stripes by working with some of Europe's most demanding recording and touring outfits including Falco, John Wetton, Bonnie Tyler, and many others. In addition to his work with other artists, Lang's 1995 solo release, "Mediator" topped the charts in Europe and garnered rave reviews for its innovative Jazz/Dance/ProgRock sound. |

Sir Tim Rice
The ICMP were delighted to present a unique and exclusive masterclass with legendary lyricist and multi-Grammy and Oscar-winner Sir Tim Rice. It was a rare opportunity to hear Sir Tim talk about his life and work and his writing partnerships with composers such as Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Elton John. ICMP students and staff performed selected songs from his repertoire with commentary onstage from Sir Tim himself. |

Polly Scattergood
The ICMP welcomed up and coming star Polly Scattergood for a masterclass before her headline performance at MishMash at the Luminaire. Polly spoke about her experiences in the industry and her music, while her manager, Neil Ferris, former MD of EMI, was on hand to answer any music business questions. |

Songwriting Masterclass with Tony Moore
The ICMP was very excited to welcome The Bedford's Tony Moore into the school to host a songwriting masterclass. With an eclectic career of music-making which includes being a founding member of Iron Maiden, keyboard player for Cutting Crew, creator of London's famous venue Kashmir Klub and host of a BBC Radio show, Tony has a wealth of experience to draw on. |
