Songwriters Weekend
This course offers students the unique opportunity to explore the craft of Songwriting, to develop their own unique voice as an artist, to widen their creative skills and get valuable professional feedback form established professional writers and key industry personnel.
The weekend will contain a mixture of classes and workshops, featuring activities, tasks and short projects designed to encourage the growth of individual songwriters. In addition, there will be seminars and showcases where student will be able to perform and discuss their work with guests from the Industry.
The Saturday evening will also feature a showcase gig at a local venue where students will have the chance to perform repertoire.

Sophie Daniels - A professional songwriter specialising in lyrics, Sophie has spent the last 5 years working for Major record labels, at Sony UK and then S Records (BMG) working for Simon Cowell on Major Pop projects. Having performed her own material both solo and with band projects - most recently 'The Love Stories', writing has always been the motivation and the last 12 months have seen a prolific outcome of solo and collaborative work.

Ken Foreman was a founder member and singer of Thrashing Doves and was signed to a major deal with A&M Records in 1985; releasing 3 albums worldwide and touring extensively in the USA, and Europe. Following the break-up of the band, he embarked on a career as a record producer, establishing Electric Wonderland Productions Ltd in 1995, to develop new artists. |
