If playing bass is your thing, then the Institute has some great bass courses, lessons and training taught by some of the finest bass teachers, for students of all ages and abilities! This is the home of the Basstech and the Bass Institute, both of which are now part of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. |

Together with the Guitar Institute, the bass school was founded over 20 years ago and has the reputation of being the outstanding place for bassists to develop their skills. Originally known as the Basstech, and more recently as the Bass Institute, the school was first, alongside the Guitar Institute, to develop formal accredited courses for those who wished to study contemporary music at the highest level.
These courses include the one-year Diploma in Popular Music Performance and the 3-year BMus Degree in Popular Music Performance, both groudbreaking courses that have contributed to the modern music industry in uncountable ways. And now, The Bass Institute has become part of The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance!

All perform regularly as live musicians, and work alongside artists such as Moby, Martin Taylor and Steve Hackett as writers, collaborative musicians or performers. Importantly, our teachers understand both the practical and theoretical elements required by the modern bassist. You can count on years of experience when you sit in one of our classes! |
