Maps and Transport

The public transport system in London is well connected and easy to use. London's transport is controlled by 'Transport for London' and their useful journey planner is available to use online at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/.

It is advised when you arrive in London to make use of the Oyster Card system and avoid paying cash. Oyster cards are around 40% cheaper and also allow you to load weekly, monthly or yearly travelcards. There are also discounts to be had once you start studying. Once you are enrolled make sure to apply for a Student Oyster Card as you are entitled to 15% off travel cards.

London's transport map is divided into six concentric zones with Zones 1 and 2 in Central London and Zone 6 covering the outer edge of the capital. The tube is generally the quickest way to get around London if traveling between zones, although buses provide plenty of sightseeing opportunities en route.

Where we are located

Kilburn is an area of north London, which is divided between three London Boroughs, London Borough of Brent, Camden, and a small part in Westminster. The main road running northwest-southeast is Kilburn High Road, part of the modern A5 road which forms the boundary between the boroughs of Brent and Camden.

It is recommended to either take the Jubilee line (silver) and get off at Kilburn station, or the London Overground (orange) using Brondesbury. The Institute is under 5 minutes walking distance from both stations.
