Amit is a guitarist and musician of international repute. He continues to perform and record with Joe Zawinul, both as part of his regular touring band and in his orchestral work with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked with Dave Liebman, Eric Johnson and currently performs in many varied ensembles with artists as diverse as Lincoln Goines, Mike Clarke, Pete Locket and Badal Roy.

He is a visiting Professor for the jazz department of the New University in New York as well as a member of the Institute’s Visiting Faculty, where his unique insights into contemporary improvised music never fail to inspire students.

He also contributed a highly acclaimed series of articles for the Institute in Guitar Techniques, discussing the use of Indian musical concepts in western music.
